Welcome to Salty, where the beauty of the ocean meets the art of craftsmanship. Inspired by the endless waves, delicate shells, and smooth sea glass, Maaike creates unique, handcrafted jewelry that captures the essence of the sea. Her atelier-at-home, nestled in the heart of Scheveningen, is just a stone's throw from the beach, allowing the sounds and colors of the sea to inspire her every day.

Every piece Maaike creates is unique and has a story. Maaike sources materials with care, ensuring that each creation not only reflects the beauty of the ocean but also helps preserve it for future generations. Join us on a journey where the treasures of the sea are transformed into wearable art, with love for both style and sustainability.

About Maaike

I'm Maaike, the creator of Salty Jewellery. I'm passionate about surfing, nature and creating. Being based in Scheveningen makes me always connected to the sea, the place where I find most of my inspiration. I've been making jewellery since I can remember and there is nothing I love more then sharing this with you.

Prints

The photos of this collection of prints were taken during Maaike's camper trip through Morocco. Inspired by the special connection of the locals with the sea, the idea arose to capture this and share it through prints.

During this trip to Morocco it became painfully clear how unfair the situation is for many refugees trying to cross the border to go to Europe.

The proceeds from the collection of prints therefore go to 'Stichting Vluchteling'. The entire purchase amount of each print sold will be donated to this organization that helps refugees in emergency situations.

This print is an ode the beauty of Morocco. Shot by Maaike in 2022 and printed on eco-friendly paper.

  • A3/A4 size
  • Printed on recycled paper made of farming waste, such as leaves and stems of grain and sugar cane, which would normally be lost during the harvest. On average, only 20% of the plant is used for food, and 80% of the crop is agricultural waste that is normally burned.
  • Because the paper is recycled, it could have little imperfections.
  • The thickness of the paper is 295grams. You can frame the print, but also just put it at a place you like.
